![]() ![]() You can set iTunes to send 24bit/192kHz via the options menus, but it just upsamples the 256kbps tracks (unless you have a 24bit/192kHz ALAC track on your hard drive, then you’re listening to an actual hires track). iTunes will not download Apple Music albums in anything higher than 256kbps even if you bought the album through the Apple Music storefront. ITunes can play lossless formats, but only if you have the file stored locally (say you ripped a CD yourself or downloaded an album).
